Who we are
HomeTVMount ("we", "us") is a free, information-only guide to mounting a television at home. We don't sell products or services. This policy describes how we collect, use, and look after the small amount of personal information you share with us when you send a question through the site or visit hometvmount.online.
If anything below is unclear, or you'd like a copy of the data we hold on you, write to studio@hometvmount.online and we'll reply in plain language within five working days.
What we collect
We ask for the smallest amount of information that lets us answer your question.
- Your name and email address.
- The question you send and anything you choose to include in it (for example, a photo of your wall).
- Anonymous web analytics about pages visited and how long for.
We don't take payments on this site, so we never collect card or banking details — there's nothing to buy here.
Why we use it
Your message is used for one thing: writing back to answer your question. Anonymous analytics help us see which guides people find useful so we can improve them.
We will never use your information to sign you up for a newsletter, sell anything, or pass it to a third party for marketing.
Our legal basis
Where the law requires us to name a basis for handling your information, we rely on the following:
- Consent — you send us a message because you'd like a reply; we use your email only to provide it.
- Legitimate interest — to run and improve a free, information-only website.
- Legal obligation — to keep any records the law specifically requires.
Who we share it with
The only third parties who ever see your information are:
- Our email provider, who routes the messages between you and us.
- Our privacy-friendly analytics tool, which sees anonymous visit data only.
Each of these is contractually bound to handle your data with at least the same care we do, and none of them are permitted to use it for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Your question and our reply are kept for up to twelve months in case you write back about the same thing, then deleted. Anonymous analytics are kept for thirteen months.
After those windows, the information is deleted from active systems. Backups are rotated and overwritten within a further ninety days.
Cookies and analytics
We use a single privacy-friendly analytics tool to count visits and understand which pages people find useful. It does not set advertising cookies and does not follow you across other sites. See our cookies policy for the full list.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Send you a copy of the information we hold on you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your information, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it.
- Pause our use of it while we work something out.
The easiest way to do any of these is to write to studio@hometvmount.online. We respond within five working days and we never charge for the request.
Children
This site is intended for adults reading up on mounting a television. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us a message, please tell us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be summarised in a short note at the top of this page for thirty days after the update.
